If you're in town for business or just a local who hasn't been here, Poor Boy Lloyd's is a Baton Rouge landmark, so be sure to make time to mosey over. They have any type of poboy you could dream up and their daily lunch specials never steer you wrong with staples like red beans and rice or pot roast.

The atmosphere is simple and relaxed and you'll see anyone from business people to legislators to families dropping in for breakfast or lunch. It's easy walking distance from all of the downtown hotels and is sure to fill you up.

They alright but I didn't get great service when I walked in. I was so hung up on what people said about the gumbo but it was just alright.

What a great place!  Nice folks, great service, and about as authentic as it gets.  Alligator sausage Po-Boy, boudin balls, fresh onion rings, and an ice cold Abita beer in a serious frosted glass.  I just relaxed and enjoyed.
So many things to try and I bet they are all good.  Can't wait to work my way through the menu.

Excellent food and service. Everyone was so sweet and friendly and those boudin balls are to die for!

tried to go for breakfast yesterday but they where closed. Maybe call first to see if they are open as the hours posted on Yelp are not correct.
